Continuous Rain-DC Patiala sounded alert; orders evacuation in some areas

Due to heavy rain and inflow of water in the seasonal rivulet the situation is turning bad in Patiala district.
Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakhshi Swahney has sounded alert in the low lying area, near the ‘Baddi Nadi’ area.
DC said “we are monitoring the situation with respect to rainfall continuously. Given the alerts issued and the heavy rainfall including in the upper reaches. We have issued evacuation orders for some houses alongside Badi Nadi at Arai Majra and asked them to put their stay at Prem Bagh, Devigarh Road, Patiala. She requested the residents to cooperate with the administration and as such, “there is no reason to panic. But just to be alert and to cooperate whenever any instructions are issued in the interest of public safety”.
