Cooking Gas gets costlier, adding burden on household budgets

The prices of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders have been increased with effect from today, adding to the burden on consumers. The hike comes amid rising global energy costs linked to the West Asia conflict.
A 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 60 more across the country. Similarly, the price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 115.
According to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) website, the price of a non-subsidised LPG cylinder in Delhi has risen to Rs 913 per 14.2 kg cylinder, compared to Rs 853 earlier. This marks the second price increase in less than a year.

In Mumbai, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has increased from Rs 852.50 to Rs 912.50. In Kolkata, the rate has gone up from Rs 879 to Rs 930, while in Chennai it has risen from Rs 868.50 to Rs 928.50.
