To present and discuss some long pending demands of the faculty working in Punjab government run medical and dental colleges in Patiala and Amritsar, Punjab State Medical and Dental Teachers Association has urged the Chief Minister Punjab Capt Amrinder Singh to give time for an urgent meeting with PSMDTA preferably next week as the whole faculty is waiting since long to get all their genuine demands and issues soled by the government before the tenure of the present government ends and the election code is imposed.
According to Dr DS Bhullar, state president of PSMDTA, the association has already sent the request message to the Chief Minister with hope of an early appointment.
Some of these demands are pending for more than five years and have been brought to the notice of the government and discussed more than once but without any solution, hence meeting with the chief minister, said Dr Jaspreet Singh state General Secretary of the association.

According to Dr Darshanjit Singh Walia, state coordinator of PSMDTA, with appointment of new faculty, many financial matters have cropped up and need urgent direct attention of the chief minister for early and amicable solution to ensure a smooth working environment in the medical education department.
