Crises in four months old AAP govt in Punjab

In another shock to aam admi party (AAP), Punjab’s advocate general Anmol Rattan Singh Sidhu has resigned from the post. As per available information, he has some differences with the ruling party leaders, bureaucrats that’s why he choose to follow the footsteps of former Punjab DGP VK Bhawra and senior IAS officer Amrit Kaur Gill, who recently took early VRS.
He had replaced Senior Advocate DS Patwalia, who was appointed by the previous Congress government led by former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in November last year.
As per sources, the new advocate general in pipeline is another senior advocate from Chandigarh, Puneet Bali and Vinod Ghai
While Puneet Bali is the son of former Chief Justice V.K. Bali, who later served as chairman of the Central Administrative Tribunal.
Vinod Ghai is a practicing at Punjab and Haryana High Court at Chandigarh since 1989. Specialization in Criminal law. Designated Senior Advocate since 2012, He is expert in Murder Cases. Vinod Ghai has argued maximum bail applications and murder appeals in punjab and Haryana High Court with succes.
Bali was once recommended for elevation as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, but Bali had expressed his disinclination and withdraws the same.
As per available information, Bali is the amongst the highest taxpayer advocate and has handled several high-profile and sensitive cases before the High Court and the Supreme Court. He was also a counsel for Punjab MLA Bikram Singh Majithia in a case filed against him and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal.
Puneet Bali was elected as the secretary of Punjab Cricket Association (PCA). A senior advocate in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Bali is also a former First Class cricketer having played three Ranji trophy matches for the state.
