CSE department Punjabi University conducted special lecture on data science

In view of the growing importance of technology, the a lecture was given today under a special lecture series “Technical Education Lecture Series” launched by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Raman Maini, Head of the Department informed that this Lecture Series is a part of various activities being carried out by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for the betterment of the students.

Dr. Maini said that in this age of technology, along with the course topics, it is very important to be aware of the technical challenges of the future. In this lecture series, Dr. Brahmaleen Kaur gave a special lecture on Data Science, one of the most important techniques related to the future of Computer Science. Dr. Brahmaleen Kaur, a leading data scientist has been involved in teaching for the last 14 years and has published more than 50 research papers written by her internationally.

Dr. Brahmaleen Kaur in her lecture on Data Science and its Applications spoke about the work done by Data Scientists in particular. Addressing the children, she said that there is a possibility of getting a lot of jobs in the field of data science in the near future as every type of company is moving towards this field and no one can deny the growing importance of data. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Williamjeet Singh, Coordinator of this Lecture Series said that this Lecture Series would be very useful for the students of Punjabi University Patiala as well as the children of Punjabi University and Regional Centers.

This lecture series is also being uploaded on the YouTube channel of the department so that more and more students can benefit from the lecture. Dr. Navdeep Kanwal, Dr. Abhinav Bhandari, Er. Navroz Kaur Kahlon and Er. Jashanpreet Singh Toor played a key role in making this program a technical success.
