Patiala city is all ready to host the Patiala Heritage Festival starting on February 13 and the Saras Mela at Sheesh Mahal from February 14. Today, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav conducted an on-site review of the festival preparations at various locations in the city. She was accompanied by PDA Chief Administrator Manisha Rana, SP Sarfaraz Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Anuprita Johal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Isha Singhal, SDM Nabha Ismat Vijay Singh, Joint Commissioner Deepjot Kaur, SDM Samana Tarsem Chand, and Assistant Commissioner Richa Goel.

Extending an open invitation to Patiala residents, Dr. Preeti Yadav shared that the Patiala Heritage Festival will kick off on February 13 at 7 AM with a Nature Walk from Environment Park, followed by a Heritage Food and Flower Festival at Baradari Bagh at 9 AM. Later that evening at 6 PM, Padma Shri awardee actress Nirmal Rishi will stage the historical play Sarhind Di Deewar at Harpal Tiwana Kala Kendra, Nabha Road.

On February 14, the Heritage Walk will start at 8:30 AM from Shahi Samadhan to Qila Mubarak, and at 1 PM, the Saras Mela will be inaugurated at Sheesh Mahal. In the evening at 6 PM, renowned Sufi singer Lakhwinder Wadali will perform at Polo Ground.

Dr. Preeti Yadav further announced that on February 15 at 11 AM, an Aero Show will be organized at the Patiala Aviation Complex, Civil Aerodrome, Sangrur Road. Later that evening at 6 PM, Rang Punjab De, a traditional Punjabi fashion show by fashion designers Eli and Kim, will be presented at Qila Mubarak.

On February 16, the Patiala Kennel Club will host the 62nd and 63rd All Breed Championship Dog Show at Polo Ground at 9 AM, while the Patiala Military Literature Festival will take place at Khalsa College. At 6 PM, world-renowned sitar player Niladri Kumar, along with tabla maestro Satyajit Talwalkar, will present a soulful musical evening at Qila Mubarak.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that all events at various locations across the city during the Patiala Heritage Festival will have free entry, while the Saras Mela at Sheesh Mahal will have an entry ticket of ₹20. Proper arrangements for parking and traffic management have been made by the district and police administration.

The Saras Mela will feature performances by over 300 artists from 16 states, including Punjab’s folk dances, Murali Rajasthani’s Punjabi folk singing, Rajasthan’s Terah Taal, Haryana’s Ghoomar, Gujarat’s Siddhi Dhamal, Uttarakhand’s Chapeli, Himachal Pradesh’s Nati, Andhra Pradesh’s Tapadgulu dance, Assam’s Bihu, Chhattisgarh’s Panthi, Odisha’s Gotipua, and Jammu and Kashmir’s Dhamali dance.

Additionally, the fair will showcase traditional entertainment acts such as Nachar from Punjab, Jogis playing the Been, Banchari drummers, Bahurupiyas, Kachhi Ghodi performers, stilt walkers, acrobats, and more.

The cultural performances lineup at the Saras Mela includes: February 15: Satwinder Bugga, February 16: Glory Bawa, February 17: Gurjit Jeeti, February 18: Sardar Ali, February 19: Mohammad Irshad, February 20: Samar Veer, February 21: Ranjit Bawa
