The resplendent two-day cultural extravaganza, Spic Macay, Shruti Amrut, organised by Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, in association with the gracious support of the Ministry of Culture came to a grand conclusion on July 30, 2023. This prestigious event took place on July 29 and 30, 2023, at the school’s Captain Amarinder Singh Auditorium.

The Chairman of Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, Malvinder Singh graced the event with his esteemed presence. The event was further adorned by the presence of esteemed board members, YPS Director, Maj Gen BS Grewal, VSM (Retd.), Chairperson SPICMACAY, Rashmi Malik and respected dignitaries from district administration. YPS staff, students and eminent personalities from the city also attended the event, witnessing a rich celebration of Indian culture.

The event also saw the participation of around 10 schools from across the region, who were invited to partake in this cultural extravaganza and witness the magnificent performances.

Spic Macay is an incredible cultural extravaganza aimed at fostering a deep appreciation for Indian heritage and traditions among the younger generation. Cultural Splendor Culminates at Yadavindra Public School, Patiala. The event witnessed an awe-inspiring lineup of renowned artists who mesmerized the audience with their exceptional talent and passion for Indian traditions. The artists who performed on the concluding day are:

Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, the illustrious maestro of Indian classical sitar from the Imdadkhani Gharana and Padma Shri Awardee, left the audience spellbound with his sitar recital.

Begum Parveen Sultana, the celebrated Hindustani classical singer from the Patiala Gharana and another Padma Shri Awardee, enchanted the attendees with her powerful and emotive vocal performance.

The purpose of organizing this event was to spread awareness and appreciation for Indian culture among the students and young generation. Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, has always been at the forefront of supporting the preservation of India’s rich cultural heritage. By providing a platform for talented artists to showcase their art, the school aimed to instill in the younger generation a profound respect and understanding of their cultural legacy.

The event also featured a press conference, where Chairman of YPS board of governors, Malvinder Singh interacted with representatives from various media houses. The conference included  Hari Priya Kaur, YPS Director, Maj Gen BS Grewal Chairperson, SPICMACAY, Rashmi Malik, YPS Deputy Headmaster,  Anil Bajaj, Bursar YPS, Lt Col RD Sharma, Rajesh Khanna, Director SPICMACAY Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. This conference allowed everyone to share the purpose and idea behind organising this event.
