Cyclist Raavi Kaur Badesha – an 8-year-old Patiala girl becomes district icon of Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao

Raavi Kaur Badesha was announced district icon for Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao by Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sawhney. Raavi who is the daughter of police head constable Simranjit Singh brought laurels to the family and Patiala city by covering a distance of 800 kilometers along Spiti Circuit from Shimla to Manali.

Deputy commissioner Patiala, Sakshi Sawhney invited Raavi Kaur Badesha to her office and appreciated her and wished her good luck for her next venture which is a journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

Deputy commissioner Patiala , Sakshi Sawhney admired Raavi  Kaur Badesha and looked forward to her success in the upcoming event. She is indeed a source of inspiration for others Sakshi Sawhney  said.

Sakshi Sawhney directed ADC ( Rural development) Patiala , Isha Singhal, to initiate the process of making Raavi Kaur Badesha District icon for Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao.

Cyclist Raavi Kaur Badesha – an 8-year-old Patiala girl becomes district icon of Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao. DC Patiala outlined a plan to put a poster of Raavi riding in hills outside her office so that other children including her daughters get motivation from her.

Raavi Kaur Badesha – an 8-year-old shared her experiences of the expedition with District Commissioner Patiala and disclosed that her journey from Shimla passing through Rampur, Narkanda, Tapri  Chitkul, Kibar, Chandratal lake Kaza, Losar, Granfu and Manali was engaging and compelling.

The Father of the little girl Simranjit Singh, who himself is a Cyclist revealed that she was passionate about cycling since the age of 4.  Arun Kumar who is president of Patiala Roadies group and ASI Jasdev Singh who is a colleague of Raavi’ s father were also present on the occasion.
