Dalewal shifted to Patiala: is govt trying to divert attention in Col Bath’s assault case?

Speculations are rife that in a strategic move, the government has shifted the farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal from PWD Rest House Jalandhar to a private Hospital in Patiala.
About an hour ago, Jagjit Singh Dalewal is shifted to Park Hospital, Patiala Chandigarh road, Patiala.
After the news was spread that Dalewal is being shifted to Patiala, the media persons who are covering, going to cover Col Bath family’s protest ran to cover Jagjit Singh Dalewal.
As per available information, the government might have taken this step to divert the media attention from ongoing Col. Pushpinder Singh Bath assault case to Jagjit Singh Dallewal.
The family of Col Bath is on sit in dharna, staging protest opposite to deputy commissioner Patiala’s office. On March 22,2025 the family launched an indefinite dharna, protest till their demands are not met.
On March 23,2025 the whole day media aired, flashed Col. Bath’s family dharna, supported by Army veterans, ex-servicemen union that lowered the image of state government, district administration.
To divert the attention of media from Col Bath’s family agitation, the government might have played a trump card and shifted Dalewal to Patiala’s private hospital, Park Hospital.
Patiala too have a PWD rest house like Jalandhar. But in PWD rest house is close to protest site and Park hospital is on the other side of Patiala, faraway from protest site.
Dallewal’s fast entered 118th day on Sunday and his shifting to a private hospital in Patiala from Jalandhar has surprised everyone.
Earlier, the farmer leader was shifted to PIMS Jalandhar after his detention from Mohali in a police crackdown on March 19,2025. Next morning he was shifted to PWD Rest house at Jalandhar.
Dr Jagpalinder Singh, Civil Surgeon Patiala has also reached Park Hospital, Patiala.
But after around 3 days, he is shifted to Patiala , which was the epicentre of the agitation by farmers who had blocked the national highway near Shambhu in Patiala district and Khanauri in Sangrur district.
