A rainbow of hues unfurled on the new site of DAV Public School Patiala when its Annual function Akankshayein the aspirations was celebrated amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation.

Revered Dr. Punam Suri (President, DAV College Managing Committee) graced the occasion as Chief Guest he was accompanied by his wife Mani Suri, H. R. Gandhar (Vice President DAV College Managing Committee) accompanied by his wife, and Leekha (Secretary DAV College Managing Committee) R.C. Jeewan (Vice Chairman LMC),  Dr. V. Singh (Director PS), Rajesh Sharma (PCS, OSD to CM), Naresh Nayyar, Paramjeet Singh Jaiswal (Vice Chancellor Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law), B.C Josan (Manager of the school), Vijay Kumar (Member DAV CMC), Hari Singh Saini (Pradhan Arya Samaj Hisar), Yogendra Singh Yogi  (Senior Deputy Mayor, Patiala) were other dignitaries present on the day. The programme commenced with pious Vedic Hawan Yajna performed by Pramod Kumar Yogarthi (Principal DAV Hisar) and Sawraj Sharma (HOD Sanskrit), so as to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. The day was also auspicious as on this day the First Stone for the New Site was laid by the Chief Guest. The Annual Report stating the distinguished achievements of the school was presented by Principal Vivek Tiwari. A musical feast ‘Sur Sagar’ presented by the school Orchestra in the form of an Orchestral train Journeying through various states of India forecasted its melody and kick started the cultural plethora.

Later, Chief Guest Dr. Punam Suri while addressing the large gathering of parents, students and staff members expressed that “He was happy to see growth of the school and how the school motivates its students by felicitations, as these serves as an impetus and booster to the stellar performance consistently. He further urged to hone the latent talent and potential of the students so that they further carve their niche in the desired dreams”.

Later the Dossier for International activities, Maiden issue of School Magazine ‘Samarpan’ and the School Calendar 2020-21 were released by the Chief Guest. It followed with the Prize Distribution Ceremony during which meritorious students who have excelled in the Academics and Sports and other competitions held at National Level were conferred with mementoes and were lauded for their achievements.

The cultural extravaganza moved with the choreography on industrious life of the student and portrayed many hidden truths. The choreography ‘Ann Daata ki Kahani’ gave glimpse of the hardship of the life of the farmer. The choreography ‘Mera Naam Joker’ touched every heart and rendered the virtue of spreading happiness. The presentation ‘Surgical Strike’ gave a peep into the efforts made by the soldiers while safeguarding the Nation. The Dramatization ‘the Dusk of life – Old Age’ beautifully presented the aloofness witnessed by the elderly people and left the audience with food for thought. ‘Jhumar’ a Punjabi Folk presented a unique picture of rich Punjabi tradition. The cultural platter concluded with Bhangra which set the energy level soaring with breath taking performance.

Principal Vivek Tiwari while expressing his gratitude on the success of the mega event proposed formal vote of thanks. The programme culminated with National Anthem, hence leaving the audience with the most engaging and memorable memories. The event was also graced by many Principals of DAV and other institutions. Many personalities from Arya Samaj, various NGOs, LMC Members were also present on the day.
