DAV Patiala Observes National Science
Sustainability Science focuses on the dynamic interactions between nature and society” were the key words of S. L. Kapoor, (Former Principal Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala) while gracing on the prestigious science festival ‘National Science Day’ at DAV Patiala premises .The day is auspicious as it marks the discovery of ‘Raman effect’ given by Noble prize winner and while addressing number of students and teachers he also quoted learning science is a continuous process .it never becomes stagnant therefore a student should always make constant efforts to learn it more. he motivated the students to be more focused and courageous enough to ask questions from the teacher. The program was also graced by M. L. Hasija (former director language department Punjab) as Guest of honour, Ved Prakash Gupta as Presiding Officer and Hem Raj Goyal (National Awardee) also present on the occasion.
In order to make the programme more meaningful a beautiful series of enthralling competitions were organized which began with the power point presentation competition for the students of class IX with this year’s theme. Later it followed by a PowerPoint presentation presented by Kirandeep Bawa and Rajni Kapoor who further highlighted sustainability development is the reconciliation of society’s development goals with the planet’s environmental limits over the long term. In addition to it, a Poster Making Competition was also organized for class VII and a Poetry Recitation Competition for classes III to V also conveyed the theme effectively and efficiently. On this day, winners in various Olympiads were awarded Hitanshi of class X was also awarded as she got 7th rank in state for her beautiful and convincing essay in All India Essay Writing by SRCM. On this day 27 students who scored Gold Medals in Science, Mathematics and English Olympiad, 1 student who cleared Friend’s Library Quiz and 31 SOF winners in G.K., Eng,, Science and 4 students for winning Aspire Olympiad were also honoured.
Principal S.R. Prabhakar while thanking the chief guest and appreciating Neera Khurana (H.O.D Science) and other science faculty members said “India our Nation has potential to prove its worth in the field of science, the only need is to arise awake and never to give up when it comes educating &training ourselves. The program was anchored by Upasana Madaan and Vanita Chhabra.
