Today DAV Patiala observed ‘Vijay Diwas’ the day to celebrate the success and to lay wreath and remember the sacrifices of the soldiers of Indo Pakistani war 1971 in its premises
During this significant occasion Col. Aseem Tandon (C.O 4 PB. Girls Battalion),Cap . Anita with their team , enlightened 50 NCC cadets about the heart touching facts related to the war and how the courageous armed forces compelled unilateral and unconditional surrender of the Pakistan army and subsequent secession of East Pakistan into Bangladesh ,During his address Col. Aseem Tandon with the aid of video clips also threw light on this year’s theme of Vijay Divas celebration which is Traffic rule Management .
In addition to it Monika Gupta NCC Incharge through her presentation gave true picture of the war, she also unrevealed information about the Gallantry awards and their valiant receivers . Later based on the presentation Capt. Anita quizzed the cadets and added more useful inputs to the event
Principal SR Prabhakar while addressing the august gathering quoted that ‘Vijay Divas is observed across India to pay tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. This is the day when young generation with their constant efforts can pay regards to these heroes. He also stressed that young generation is more vulnerable to the road accidents so following this year’s theme of traffic management will be the true tribute to the sacrifices made by the armed forces.” The programme concluded with the presentation of award of honour to Col. Aseem .
