Day 3 of MRSPTU 11th Foundation Week Observed with Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib….

The third day of the week-long 11th Foundation Day celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda was marked with deep spiritual fervour and collective reverence with the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib held on the university campus.

The solemn religious ceremony witnessed the participation of members of the university fraternity, distinguished guests, faculty, staff, and students, creating an atmosphere of harmony, reflection, and gratitude. The completion of Shri Akhand Path Sahib was observed as a significant spiritual milestone, invoking blessings for the continued growth, prosperity, and academic excellence of the University.

Hazoori Ragi Jatha from Sri Darbar Sahib performed soulful kirtan at the Multipurpose Hall, leaving the gathering deeply moved. Following the Bhog ceremony, Guru Ka Langar was organised, symbolising equality, service, and community bonding. Students enthusiastically participated in preparing and serving Langar, reflecting the spirit of sewa and unity.

The occasion was graced by eminent dignitaries including Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences; Padamjeet Singh Mehta, Mayor, Bathinda Municipal Corporation; and  Rajan Amardeep Singh, Chairman, Bathinda Central Cooperative Bank Limited.

The Mayor announced the installation of a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh at the proposed chowk near the university and also assured the development of a gymnasium, amusement park, children’s swings, and enhanced green spaces. Tree plantation was carried out by the guests on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, MRSPTU, stated that the spiritual observance during Foundation Week underscores the importance of strong values, collective faith, and community strength in shaping the University’s progress.

Registrar Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar complimented the faculty and staff for the successful organisation of the programme and presented a formal vote of thanks.

With the spiritual foundation firmly laid, the celebrations now move towards cultural vibrancy. The mega Art, Cultural and Literary Festival “Tarannum” commenced with enthusiasm in the evening and will conclude on February 13, showcasing student talent in music, dance, and literary arts.

The Foundation Week celebrations will culminate with an Alumni Meet on February 14, providing former students an opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater.
