DBU organised Guru Ka Langar dedicated to Martyrdom of Mata Gujri Ji and Chaar Sahibzade

Desh Bhagat University, Mandigobindgarh organised Guru Ka langar dedicated to Martyrdom of Mata Gujri Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.

The days ranging from 21 to 27 December are dedicated as the Sacrificial Week in memory of the four Sahibzadas and Mother of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, tenth Guru of Sikhs who made sacrifices for the protection of Sikhism and Hinduism. Mata Gurjri Ji, Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh, Sahibzada Baba Jujhar Singh, got assassinated in the battle of Chamkaur and the two younger Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh got buried in the living walls at Sirhind, while saving their religious faiths against forceful conversion.

The University has taken steps to spread awareness among the youth and to arrest the slide towards becoming lapsed Sikhs. The University also showed movie “Chaar Sahibzade” that students need to be reminded of the symbols of their culture, heritage and history  to spread awareness.

On this martydom week Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University paid Ji’s tribute to the sacrifices of the Sikh figures who sacrificed themselves for the welfare of humanity and hoped that the future generations would also remember and commemorate their sacrifices with greater devotion.
