DC Sakshi Sawhney leads Patiala to Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin Excellence; represented district among top 10 nationwide

An exemplary virtual event celebrated the remarkable progress achieved by District Collectors in the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin.

Sakshi Sawhney, Deputy Commissioner of Patiala District, proudly represented the district among the top 10 nationwide.

Highlighting Patiala’s ODF Plus journey, Sawhney showcased the district’s achievements, emphasizing successful Solid Waste Management Initiatives driven by community participation. Notable accomplishments included the establishment of a GOBARdhan Plant at Gazipur village and an All-Gender Community Sanitary complex in Deelwal village, Block Sanour.

During her presentation, Sawhney attributed the success to community involvement, local NGOs, and Youth Clubs while commending Anuprita Johal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), for her steadfast oversight of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Acknowledging the efforts of various teams,  Sawhney extended her congratulations to the District Sanitation Team, emphasizing the contributions of key individuals such as Vipan Singla, District Sanitation Officer, Veerpal Dixit, IEC Specialist at DWSS, Sevya Sharma, Community Development Specialist,  Amandeep Kaur, DDPO, Vineet Sharma, CEO of Zila Parishad, and all Block Development & Panchayat Officers. Special recognition was given to Pooja, the District Nodal Officer for MNREGA, Dr. Rajneesh Sharma, and the Round Glass Foundation, along with local NGOs and Youth Clubs.
