Deadlock Over- Centre invites Punjab farmers for table talk

Today, a delegation of centre government under the leadership of Priya Ranjan, a joint secretary level officer of minister of agriculture has reached Khanauri border and resumed talk with fasting farmer’s leader Jagjeet Singh Dallewal and SKM (non-political) leaders.
After various rounds of talk, the centre government has forwarded a formal invitation to the leaders of both the forums (Pandher group and Dallewal group) , SKM (Non Political) for a table talk on February 14,2025 at Mahatama Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Chandigarh at 5 pm.
“I hope Dallewal will break his fast and participate in talks,” said Priya Ranjan
As per the delegation, centre minister along with CM Punjab, Kisan leaders will resume the talk on the demands of Kisan leaders.
Jagjeet Dallewal has been on a fast unto death since November 26 to press for the acceptance of farmers’ demands.
Farmers, under the banner of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points since February 13 last year. The farmers pitched their tents there after security forces refused to allow them to march to Delhi to press for their various demands, including a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for their crops.
