Death due to covid; PWD head office closed for 4 days

Punjab Public works department (PWD) department has decided to close its head office, situated in block C of mini secretariat, Patiala after a senior assistant Prithpal Singh died today, due to coronavirus, for complete sanitization of the building.
As per orders issued by executive engineer (headquarters), the offices situated in block C on mini secretariat Patiala will be closed from July 23, 2020 to July, 24,2020. July 25, is Saturday and July 26, is Sunday. Now the office will open on Monday, after completely sanitizting all the C block in these 4 days, having chief engineer’s offices along with other offices of PWD department.
As per the orders, “all the officers will work from their home”.
Around a weeks ago, on July 13, “A Naib Tehsildar of Patiala tested Covid positive. After this the district administration had closed the mini secretariat A block, D block, sewa kendra/ suvidha centres, for sanitization.
Patiala mini secretariat have four blocks. A block have offices of commissioner Patiala division, deputy commissioner Patiala, SDM Patiala ,public relations, food supply, transport, ADC (general) and other district administration offices. B block is with Patiala police having offices of SSP Patiala and other police officials. C block is the head office of Punjab’s public works department (PWD B&R) having offices of PWD officials. D block have the offices of revenue department, thesildar , suvidha centre/ sewa kendra.
