Department of English of World University organized extension lecture on film studies

The Department of English, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organized an extension lecture on “How to Read a Film”. Assistant Professor Ripudaman Singh, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, M. M. University, Ambala was the guest speaker of the event.

Dr. Swaraj Raj, Dean, Faculty of Languages and Head, Department of English formally welcomed Ripudaman Singh. Dr. Swaraj Raj, Dean Faculty of Languages and Head, English  Department while formally welcoming the guest speaker said that the main focus of the lecture is to help students to learn how to interpret the film deeply rather than watching it just for fun.

 

Prof. Ripudaman Singh dealt with various ways of interpreting a film like semiotic, narrative, mise-en-scene etc. The students actively participated in the discussion. Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University in his address appreciated the efforts of the Department and encouraged them to organize such events in the future also.  Assistant Professor Jaspreet Kaur, Department of English extended the vote of thanks on this occasion.
