Desh Bhagat University‘s Faculty of Nursing proudly marked International Nurses Day on May 13, honoring the profound contributions of nurses globally. The event was graced by Chief Guest Gurdial Singh Buttar, President of the Nursing Training Institutes Association, Punjab, along with distinguished personalities from the university and the nursing fraternity.
Buttar’s words resonated with students, emphasizing the noble service to humanity through nursing as a promising career path with excellent placement opportunities. Whose address highlighted the vital role of nurses in healthcare and the need for continuous support and recognition for their dedication and hard work. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, Prof. Abhijit Joshi, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President, and other dignitaries of Desh Bhagat University were also present to grace the occasion.
Inspirational speeches by Jasmine Kaur, Nursing Tutor at University College of Nursing, BFUHS, Faridkot, and Prof. Neetu Thakur from Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana, set an inspiring tone for the celebration. The event’s theme, encapsulating the essence of this year’s International Nurses Day, was unveiled by Prof. Lovesampuranjot Kaur.
The event featured a diverse range of cultural and educational activities, including Shabad Kirtan by Boota Singh, and lively dance performances by B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Semester Students, captivating role play by B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Semester Students, engaging speech competition among students, an energetic Bollywood dance performance by Aditi, a B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Semester Student, poetic rendition by Hemant, a B.Sc. Nursing 4th Year Student, and an entertaining skit performed by B.Sc. Nursing 4th Year Students. The vibrant Punjabi dance by Amrit, a B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Semester Students added to the festivities.
