Similarly, the outgoing deputy commissioner Ludhiana, Surbhi Malik has also paid homage to the great freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country, at district administrative complex, Ludhiana.

“It’s a sheer disrespect to the Father of the Nation” said Amrinder Singh Bazaz, shiromani akali dal Patiala halqa incharge and former mayor on skipping of homage paying ceremony by outgoing deputy commissioner Patiala, Sakshi Sawhney.

“She has left Patiala at around 10:00-10:30 am to join her new posting at Ludhiana. Why was she is in hurry to leave Patiala and join as DC Ludhiana? The timing of paying homage at 11:00 am is fixed in all India. Even President, PM pays homage at 11:00 am. We failed to understand her hurry to join as DC Ludhiana. Can’t she leave for Ludhiana after paying tribute to martyrs?” said Vinod Bhatnagar, president Congress Sewa Dal, Patiala parliamentary constituency.
