District Fatehgarh Sahib leads in Self Smart Schools

District Fatehgarh Sahib is leading in State for creating Self Smart Schools and out of 439 primary schools 425 have become self smart. Stating this District Education Officer (Elementary) Dinesh Kumar said that good quality, intellectual, creative education is being provided to children through these self-smart schools and e-contents are being used through LED projectors and Laptops. He further said that creation of smart school not only added to the ambiance but also increased to the new enrollments to 2500.
Dinesh Kumar said that Punjab due to the campaign launched by the Punjab government to improve education, there has been a radical change in the government schools and the appearance and education level of the schools is improving. He said that now general public and parents have gained faith in Govt. schools. He said that smart school at village Reona Bhola of the district become an example for the region and is providing better facilities to the children as compared to the nearby private schools. District Education Officer said that under Padho Punjab, education is being provided to the children’s through learning aids due to which the students are competing in studies, sports and other competitions.
School teacher Sukhvinder Singh said that earlier due to non-paved floor, the children have to face the dust. Besides this the boundary wall was also damaged and roofs were leaking in rains. He said that with the Panchayat funds the roof of School was got repaired and boundary wall was raised and painting was got done. Then school teachers with students planted various tree saplings which created a good environment in school. Due to the fact, positive results were seen in studies and at various state level competitions. He said that villagers have formed a society named “Golden future of Children”. With the help of society in assistance with the Panchayat, a smart class room was created and a library was got constructed. Besides this facilities like RO water, Inverter, Free computer education, Green educational parks, Sound System, Stage, Swings, Sports kits, toys etc. are being provided to the children’s.
The children of this school got second position in Kho-Kho at district level and 4 students participated at State level. School children every year succeeds in Navodaya school test and now 13 children are studying in Navodaya School. The school has children from four villages of the region. Children in preschool nursery are being taught in English medium and there is an increase in the number of children in the school.
