District Governor Inspects Activities of Rotary Club Rupnagar

Rotarian Rajpal Singh, Governor of Rotary International District 3080 visited Rotary Club Rupnagar & inspected the projects of the club executed in the Rotary Year 2024 – 25.

He along with his wife Rotarian Inderbir Kaur were welcomed by the club President Kulwant Singh, Secretary Arina Chananna, Chairman DG Visit Past President Amar Raj Saini, Past President Vivek Chananna & other Rotarians. The team visited permanent projects of the club like Rotary Roopkunj in village majri – shelter for homeless, Ambuja Manovikas Kender’s labs for special children’s in village salora, ground water recharging wells built in GMN School, Government Girls school & Rotary Toilet block near Bela chowk. He appreciated the projects & its maintenance being made by the club.

After completing the visit of all permanent projects, District Governor visited the Rotary Bhawan where a warm welcome was extended by the club members during the regular club meeting. After traditional light lamping & Saraswati vandana, the chief guest was presented the presentation of all 214 projects, made by the club in this Rotary year. Out of these projects 123 projects were made under community service, 8 each under club & vocational service, 42 under youth service & 4 under International service respectively. Value of these projects is about Rs. 18,46,022/- & 31434 people got benefits from it. Major projects of this Rotary Year are 12 tree plantation drives in which 1634 trees got planted, 20 blood donation camps in which 1260 units got collected, 15 medical & 6 dental checkup camps in which more than 4600 persons got treatment, RYLA for special children’s, Vocational excellence awards, Heart Surgeries of two children’s & career guidance seminars. The meticulously prepared presentation was presented by Past President Prof. PrabhjitSingh.

In his address, PDG Chetan Aggarwal put light on the history & tradition of club. 14 Rotarians including their wards, who contributed one thousand US dollars to the Rotary Foundation were given Paul Harris Felloe lapel pins for their contribution.

This was coordinated by Past President Dr BPS Parmar. Noted surgeon & PDG Dr R S Parmar conveyed his blessings to the club leadership & warm welcome to the chief guest. Introduction of the chief guest was made by Assistant Governor of Zone 5 Rotarian Dr Bhim Sain.

In his key note address, District Governor appreciated the projects of club & announced that this club is one of the most active clubs of the district. He explained the good work being done by the Rotary in entire world & particularly in the District 3080.

The whole program was moderated by Director Vocational Service Past President Dr. JK Sharma. Vote of thanks was presented by President Elect Rotarian Sudhir Sharma, From Rotary side, Past Presidents DS Deol, Dr UshaBhatia, JK Bhatia, Gurprit Singh, Er. Parminder Kumar, Dr Namrita Parmar & Rotarian Rajesh Verma, Rajiv Gupta, Dr Ankur Wahi, Ashok Chadha, Neeta Chadha, Dr Arti Verma, Dr Rajiv Aggarwal, Jaswinerjit Singh were present.

Apart from club members & their families, President & Secretary of both Inner wheel clubs & Rotaract Club of Government College Ropar were also present.
