Doctor assaulted at a civil hospital in Punjab; doctors go on strike; joined back after action

A drug addict has assaulted Dr Kanwarjit Singh on Nabha’s (district Patiala) Civil hospital. The doctor is working in newly operatinalise OOAT clinic.
Doctors go on strike. SMO Nabha Dr Dalbir Kaur says they will not call off their agitation till action is taken against the accused.
As per reports, patient was given medicine but he misbehaved with staff and abused female staff on reduction of the medicine. Then staff called Dr Kanwarjit (incharge OOAT Clinic ,Sdh,Nabha) to intervene.
Dr Kanwer counselled patient on the reduction of the dose and to sign in register for medicine he already took but he started abusing the doctor , me held his collar and pushed him. In the meantime other staff came for his rescue and eventually things settled.
Police information was sent and accused handed over to police. All the doctors left their OPD for about 1 hour and meeting was held in presence of SMO. SDM and DSP Nabha was informed about the incident and security was demanded at Sdh,Nabha ,hospital
Later the agitating doctors call of their strike after police take action against the accused. SMO Dr Dalbir Kaur said we are back on our duty and doctors are working in OPD.
