Dr. Alka Goyal Senior Resident in Govt. Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, has been invited as a Guest Speaker in International Conference of Cardiology in Bangkok, Thailand which was held on 9 and 10 th May 2024 to deliver a lecture on Recent Marker PCSK9 for Cardiac Diseases.

Dr. Alka Goyal did a research on PCSK9 (Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 9) marker for 3 years in kidney disease and cardiac disease patients.

Prevalence of Cardiovascular diseases in Chronic Kidney disease in world is around 45-50 percent whereas in India it is 35-40 percent

She said to prevent Myocardial Infarction ( Heart attack) this marker is the best which can detect risk of heart attack earliest so that we can take preventive measures before and she also said end stage renal disease patients which are on hemodialysis are also at risk of heart attack so this marker PCSK9 can also be used as diagnostic and prognostic marker in kidney disease also.
