Dr Amandeep Singh Bakshi to lead IMA Patiala in 2026 along with new team

Renowned orthopaedician Dr Amandeep Singh Bakshi, Professor of Orthopaedics at Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, has taken over the reins as President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Patiala for the year 2026.

Dr Bakshi announced his executive team for 2026, comprising Dr Rajinder Goyal as Secretary, Dr Rohit Singla as Vice President, Dr Kiranjot Kaur as Joint Secretary, and Dr Parvinder Singh as Finance Secretary.

The installation ceremony was attended by more than 150 IMA members and was graced by senior Punjab IMA office bearers Dr Chander Mohini and Dr Harsimran Singh Tuli. Former IMA Punjab Presidents Dr Bhagwant Singh and Dr Jatinder Kansal, along with Punjab Medical Council (PMC) members Dr Rakesh Arora and Dr Jaswinder Pal Singh Sodhi, were also present.

Senior members of the medical fraternity including Dr Manmohan Singh, Dr Brijesh Modi, Dr Vishal Chopra, Dr H.S. Wealthy, and Dr Sudhir Verma, along with many other doctors, added to the significance of the occasion.

In his presidential address, Dr Bakshi stated that IMA is more than an organisation; it is a philosophy, a collective conscience, and a professional family working towards positive change in society.

He outlined his vision for the coming year, focusing on strengthening unity among members, upholding the highest professional and ethical standards, supporting continuous learning and innovation, and preserving the prestige and honour of IMA members at all levels. He emphasised teamwork, transparency, and togetherness as the pillars for achieving these goals.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Rajinder Goyal, Secretary, IMA Patiala.
