Dr Harinder Singh Bedi led team examined 500 in a cardiac camp

As many as 500 people were examined during an Ivy Hospital, Mohali free cardiac check-up camp at Gurudwara Teg Bahadur Singh Sahib, phase-9, Mohali on Thursday.
During camp a team of doctors from Ivy led by Dr Harinder Singh Bedi, director of cardio vascular sciences consulted people for their heart related problems.
Among others, NS Sekhon, general secretary and Jaswinder Singh a member from Gurudwara committee were also presented during occasion.
Later addressing an awareness talk on heart , Dr Bedi said that to enjoy a healthy life span one should adopt healthy lifestyle and remain fit from an early age .
80% of lifestyle diseases are preventable by simple steps like regular walks at least 30 minutes per day 5 days a week, eat more fruits and vegetables 5 to 6 times a day, he informed.
He further said that heart is affected by all positive and negative emotions and stress related to changing relationship patterns being followed by the present generation. Several studies conducted worldwide have proven that those who are in steady and emotionally happy relationship live longer and healthier while those who do not socialize or suffer from broken relationships have higher risk of heart attacks , Diabetes ,cancers, depressions and addictions, he informed.
