Dr Harsh Charitable trust-a hope for orphan, destitute girls; distributed Rs 4.50 lacs to needy girls

Dr Harsh Charitable Trust distributed cheques for school fees worth 4.50 lakhs to needy girls for their education in schools, colleges, universities in different parts of Punjab.

In an annual function held at the office of the trust in Patiala, 16 more girls were added to the family of Harsh Charitable Trust, making a total of 447 girls who are getting education fund from Dr Harsh Charitable Trust. The girl students arrived the trust’s head office to receive their cheques for school, college, university fees.

Dr Harsh Charitable Trust is working since 2008. The trust has girls from all religions. The criteria for inclusion in trust are poor orphan girls from any caste, creed or religion but a resident of Punjab. These girls are from different parts of Punjab. One of girl has now completed PhD mathematics through this trust while another is now pursuing doctorate in USA. Girls, whose both parents have committed suicide, are also getting help from this trust.

Dr Harshindar Kaur, president of the trust said that major chunk of the corpus of the trust is their own contribution. Dr Gurpal Singh, secretary of the trust added that they are very thankful to the NRI philanthropist who has been magnanimously helping them regularly. Dr Sukhmani Kaur, daughter of the couple and Nanakjot Singh, their son have been helping them since the formation of the trust.
