Drama club reviving the folk culture of Punjab- Vibhu

Drama Club ,Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar organised a play focusing on the folk culture of Punjab in Dashmesh auditorium in the university premises on September 12,2023 at 6 pm. Prof. (Dr.) Sunil, Teacher-in-charge drama club welcomed all the the dignities present in the hall. Play initiated with a warm welcome of the chief guest Kewal Dhaliwal (NSD Graduate).
The play was written by Bartlot Brecht ,a German theatre practitioner and playwright and named the Caucasian chalk circle, adapted in the Punjabi folk by Amitoj (renowned Punjabi writer) in the folk lore’s of Punjab from the stories of nadu khaan. This play focuses on the local issues of Punjab and used to raise voices of common people facing local issues and problems. This play included nakaal shaili and also covers several folk songs of Punjab. The play ended with the great applause by the audience. Prof.(Dr.) Aman, Director Youth welfare warmly thanked the team and the crew members.
