Is DS Patiwalia appointment as AG Punjab goes in limbo?

Speculations are rife that the appointment of senior advocate DS Patwalia, who has been declared as the next advocate general (AG) Punjab on Thursday, goes in limbo.
As per unconfirmed reports, his appointment has been stalled, because his elder brother Paramjit Singh Patwalia remained Assistant Solicitor General from 2014 for three years in BJP led NDA government. Due to this Congress high command raised objections and stalled his appointment as AG Punjab.
His appointment as the top law officer was expected following the resignation by Atul Nanda from the post soon after Capt Amarinder Singh resigned.
Patwalia is the son of former Supreme Court judge Kuldeep Singh and retired educationist Gurminder K Singh. He is the younger brother of Supreme Court advocate PS Patwalia.
Patwalia is considered close to PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. He had appeared for former Indian Police Service officer Mohammad Mustafa when he challenged the appointment of Dinkar Gupta as the state police chief after superseding him.
