The President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Harmeet Singh Kalka today informed that the Gurdwara Committee has established a special service counter outside Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, New Delhi with the aim of connecting children from needy and economically weaker families with education and fulfilling their basic educational needs.
He stated that the service counter contains various educational materials donated by the Sangat, including books, notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, diaries, school bags, and other essential study materials. He added that all this material is being provided to needy families who are unable to bear the educational expenses of their children.
Kalka said that in today’s modern era, education has become one of the greatest necessities of human life, and the DSGMC is launching this project while fulfilling its social and Panthic responsibilities.
He said that if the community has to progress, it is extremely important to connect children with quality education.
He further said that this effort is not merely a service, but a sacred initiative to illuminate society with the light of knowledge. Expressing happiness, he said that the Sangat is contributing enthusiastically to this service. Some are donating books, others notebooks, school bags, and other educational materials, thereby playing their part in this noble cause.
He said that the role of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is only to manage this service efficiently, while the real strength behind this initiative is the Sangat’s Dasvandh and spirit of seva. Just as devotees contribute towards langar, sweet cold water, ice cream, and other services, “education donation” is now also being embraced as a noble form of seva.

Harmeet Singh Kalka appealed to the Sangat that those who wish their Dasvandh to be utilized at the right and deserving places should contribute generously towards this education service. He said that instead of cash donations, people can donate educational materials according to their capacity so that assistance can reach the maximum number of needy children.
He further informed that special arrangements have been made to run the entire system in a transparent and organized manner. Proper records are maintained of those donating materials, and details such as Aadhaar cards and need-based information of the beneficiary families are recorded to ensure that assistance reaches the genuinely deserving children.
Harmeet Singh Kalka requested the Sangat to contribute towards this noble “Education Service Campaign” and help brighten the future of needy children.
