Rotaract and Eco Club of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce organised plantation drive at Patiala’s Masti Ka Bagh

The Rotaract Club (R.I. District: 3090) and Eco Club of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala organized a “Plantation Drive”on 22-10-2024 to promote environmental awareness.
The event was held under the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata, along with distinguished alumnus Rtn. CA Rajiv Goyal, Dr.Reetu Kapoor (Incharge of the Rotaract Club) and Dr.Jaspreet KaurDhanoa (Incharge of the Eco Club). The event took place at “MastiKaBagh,” where enthusiastic college students, alongside their teachers engaged in planting trees. This initiative aimed to instil a sense of responsibility in the small children present at “Masti Ki Pathshala” about the importance of planting trees to protect our planet.
In addition to the tree planting, the event also included the distribution of snacks to the children, creating a joyful atmosphere. The students of the college who are active members of the Rotaract Club and Eco Club, worked diligently to make this event a success, showcasing their commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement.
Principal (Prof.)Dr.KusumLata said that this event is a significant step towards instilling environmental consciousness in our youth. By nurturing love for nature and trees, we are planting the seeds for a sustainable future.She remarked that theBikramites are endlessly enthusiastic about community service, always eager to give back and uplift those around them.Dr.Jaspreet Kaur Dhanoa, Incharge of the Eco Club, encouraged students to participate in tree planting initiatives and embrace environmental safety practices.
Dr.Reetu Kapoor, Incharge Rotaract Club added that this initiative is not just about planting trees; it’s about planting hope and responsibility in the hearts of our children and together we can create a greener and healthier planet. Rtn. C.A. Rajiv Goyal lauded the efforts of Rotaract Club members and Eco Club members for their dedication to the community service and encouraged students to engage in more such initiatives.
The Plantation Drive not only fostered a spirit of teamwork among the students but also reinforced the crucial message of sustainability to the younger generation.

On this occasion the founder of ‘MastikiPathshala’ Rajpal Mast, Anju Gulati, Paramjeet Aggarwal, Rana, Anita Chawla, Gagandeep and the members of Patiala Women Club were also present. Rotaract club president Raghav Garg, Secretary Harsimardeep Kaur along with club members Aksh Goyal, Vridhi, Keshav Garg, Diksha, Harsehaj, Ishita, Dipin actively participated in the event.
This event serves as a reminder of the collective effort needed to safeguard our environment for future generations. The event created an atmosphere of joy and celebration, brightening the day for everyone involved.
