ED raids Patiala’s renowned CA residence

India’s premier enforcement agency (ED) today raided the residence of Patiala’s renowned CA Anil Arora in connection with the ‘Gauva Compensation Scam’

As per reports, Jasmin Kaur, the wife of Rajesh Dhiman, IAS received compensation of over Rs 1 crore 17 lakh. Rajesh Dhiman’s Chartered Accountant, Anil Arora, also received compensation worth Rs 1.14 crore

Earlier in an early morning action, ED teams raided the premises of two senior Punjab IAS officers’ premises at Mohali, Chandigarh, Ferozepur

As per reports, the enforcement agency has raided the premises of states senior IAS officers, excise and taxation commissioner Varun Roojam and deputy commissioner of Ferozepur Rajesh Dhiman. The team has raided the official residence of DC Ferozepur, Rajesh Dhiman.

The scam involves the embezzlement of around Rs 137 crore that was released as compensation for guava orchards on land acquired by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau had already registered a case and is investigation the case. The bureau had already arrested many people, including beneficiaries and public servants, in relation to the scam.

As per reports, the ED has also raided other beneficiaries of the ‘Gauva Compensation Scam”

Punjab state VB said in this regard had already lodged a FIR no. 16 dated 02/05/23 under sections 409, 420, 465, 466, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC and section 13(1) (a), 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at VB Police Station, Flying Squad -1, Punjab at Mohali against the beneficiaries.

Vigilance had already arrested retired PCS Officer Jagdish Singh Johal, who was Land Acquisition Collector (LAC) of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA),  had arrested Advocate Rohit Sharma, who is a son of Shiv Kumar, PCS ( Retd.) who got retired in February 2020 and has remained posted as LAC, GMADA in year 2015-16 in connection with multi-crore Guava trees compensation scam.
