The educational exhibition dedicated to the unparalleled sacrifice of Mata Gujri Ji and Chote Sahibzaade- Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, organized by the Directorate of Education of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee marked its beginning in the premises of Mata Gujri College.

Director Education, SGPC, Dr. Jatinder Singh Sidhu, while offering respect to the great sacrifice of Mata Gujri Ji and Sahibzaade, said that, “This is our duty to remember this sacrifice of Mata Gujri Ji and Chote Sahibzaade and also tell our children about our great history. The younger generation should take inspiration from the determination, dedication and martyrdom of Chote Sahibzaade and adopt the qualities of patience, discipline and contentment.”

Shedding light about the various aspects of the Sikh history, Dr. Kashmir Singh, Director Principal of the college, said that students should take direction from the martyrdom of Mata Gujri Ji and Sahibzaade and embrace the ideologies and the moral values of Sikhism in their life. He said that with this Educational Exhibition the younger generation will not only communicate with the history but also, get direction from it.

During this occasion, the New Year’s Calendar of the college, a booklet ‘Anandpur to Sirhind Tak’- written by Dr. Jagjeevan Singh, and ‘Fateh’- the lab journal of the Journalism department of the college, which were all dedicated to the martyrdom of Mata Gujri Ji and Sahibzaade were also released.

Also in this event, various contests related to our cultural and religious heritage like War Gayan, Kawishri, Dastarbandi, Gatka, Religious Plays, Poems, and Painting, etc were conducted in which various educational institutes of SGPC, Amritsar were also present. The exhibition of religious paintings was also held in the college. Sardar Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal- the founder of World Cancer Care, various Principals and staff members of various colleges of SGPC and students were also present during this event.
