Electrical engineer to head BBMB; govt approved regular chairman

Appointments committee of the cabinet has approved the appointment of Sanjay Srivastava, Chief Engineer , Central Engineer, Central regulatory Authority as Chairman, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), till his retirement (i.e. 30.06.2023) by temporarily downgrading the post of Chairman, BBMB (initially for a period of two years), in terms of Government of India (Transaction of Business) Rules, 1961.
Sanjay Srivastava is presently serving as chief engineer Hydro Engineering & Technology Development Division of Central Electricity .Authority, since December 3,2019.
Srivastva will replace Tanmay Kumar is a 1993 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre , who has been appointed as Chairman of BBMB with effect from 18th July 2020 for three months. The government extended his tenure for another three months, in the first week of this month.
