Extension Lecture on Indian Knowledge System held at Govt Mohindra College

Under the competent and dynamic leadership of the Principal of Government Mohindra College Patiala, Amarjit Singh, IQAC arranged an Extension Lecture on the topic of Indian Knowledge System delivered by Sarvesh Chadda, Vibhag Sanyojak, Samskrita Bharati, Punjab.
The major takeaways of the Lecture were : introducing students to the basics of Sanskrit & to promote Sanskrit language; to introduce students to the ancient Indian knowledge with specific thrust on the scientific aspects contained in Sanskrit language; to establish a connection of ancient Indian Studies with the Modern scientific bent of mind & to reestablish the supremacy of ancient Indian texts on Medicine, language, science and mathematics.
The resource person also emphasised the importance of inculcating moral qualities and Indian values in the young generation. He also suggested that students should grab the opportunities for research regarding ancient Indian knowledge, crafts, beliefs, commerce etc. He also expressed his intention to generate interest of students towards Indian philosophy and spiritual knowledge.
Principal Amarjit Singh opined that opportunities are bring provided to the students of the college for interdisciplinary studies and discussions keeping in mind the major guiding pillars of National Education Policy 2020.
The proceedings of the day were conducted by Dr. Sohail Mohammad co-coordinator IQAC, and the Vote of thanks was delivered by Ramneet Kaur, member IQAC Mohindra.
The college council, faculty members, IQAC members and 175 students attended the Lecture.
