FCI CMD requested to Chief Secretary, Punjab to resolve ongoing foodgrain procurement agencies strike, urgently

With the strike of foodgrain procurement agencies intensifying daily, it forces the Food Corporation of India, Chairman and Managing Director Ashok KK Meena (IAS) to intervene in the matter.
The CMD Meena has written an official letter to the chief secretary of Punjab to kindly intervene in the matter personally and use his good offices to resolve the issue immediately.
The letter read “This is to invite your kind attention towards the indefinite strike called by Punjab procuring agencies joint coordination committee (Markfed, Pungrain, Punsup and PSWC) which is hampering evacuation of stocks by rakes as well as ongoing rice procurement operations in Punjab region. “
“In this connection, it is to inform that any disruption in rakes loading may lead to dislocation of PDS in recipient regions.”
“It is also pertinent to mention here that this strike may adversely affect the squaring up of the cas credit limit (CCL) account of RMS 2021-22 of Punjab state as the wheat liquidation of crop year 2021-22 has to be completed before the end of December 2022.”
“Further, the strike may result into delay in acceptance of CMR by FCI and payment to the state government.”
“I would therefore request you to kindly intervene in the matter personally and use your good offices to resolve the issue immediately. ‘
On the other hand, all the ranks-clerk to inspector to district heads to divisional heads to head office officers of all foodgrain procurement agencies namely PUNGRAIN, MARKFED, PUNSUP and Punjab State warehousing Corporation (PSWC) staged a massive protest of Tuesday outside “Anaj Bhawan” at Chandigarh.
All the officers of foodgrain procurement agencies of Punjab posted at head offices, divisional offices , district offices, inspectors are already on mass strike, leave against the highhandedness of vigilance bureau in registering irrelevant FIRs against the officers of foodgrain procurement agencies.
FCI CMD requested to Chief Secretary, Punjab to resolve ongoing foodgrain procurement agencies strike, urgently. Punjab Foodgrain Agencies are demanding the cancellation of all FIRs in tendering process be cancelled immediately, No new FIR should be lodged, No officer should be nominated in the FIRs, No FIR should be lodged on the basis of mere suspicion, any other complaint received by the VB should be sent to the department, enquiry into wooden carets be done by the departmental officers and if found any discrepancies than it should be investigated by the vigilance bureau.
