Finally, UT Administration orders shifting to new UT secretariat buildings; rooms, floors allotted to departments

Finally, the day has come when UT administration officially ordered the shifting from the old secretariat building to the new UT secretariat building in Sector 9 .

Three months after the “inauguration” by President of India Droupadi Murmu, during her maiden visit to the City Beautiful, the new UT secretariat building in Sector 9 is still lying vacant as “final touches” are being given.

Now, an order has been issued by the establishment branch of the Chandigarh Administration Sectt. after UT Adviser Dharam Pal directed the officers  “shifting from the old secretariat building should start at the earliest.”

The building has G+6 floors and the rooms, floors have been allotted to all the departments.The construction work on the building started in 2018, though the foundation stone was installed way back in 2007.

The building has G+6 floors having various offices, including that of the UT administrator, a multipurpose hall, conference hall, gym, bank, post office, a Sampark Centre. There will be two cafeterias, one on the ground floor for the visitors, and another on an upper floor primarily for the employees
