Taking a serious view of the violent incident that occurred during a peaceful religious programme at a Gurdwara Sahib in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, Dr. Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Member of the BJP Parliamentary Board and former Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, visited the hospital today to meet the grievously injured Sardar Ramandeep Singh. During the visit, Dr. Lalpura interacted with the victim’s family members and held detailed discussions with the attending doctors to assess his medical condition.
The incident took place when a peaceful lecture series was being organised inside the Gurdwara Sahib to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas. During the programme, anti-social and communal elements allegedly launched an attack, leaving Ramandeep Singh with serious injuries, including severe trauma to his eye.
Terming the incident a direct attack on communal harmony, religious freedom, and constitutional values, Dr. Lalpura stated that violence inside a religious place—especially on a day of national remembrance—is completely unacceptable. He categorically asserted that such acts cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

Dr. Lalpura informed that he has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding immediate, stringent, and exemplary legal action against those responsible, along with a fair and time-bound investigation, and comprehensive medical, legal, and security support for the victim and his family.
Expressing confidence in the state administration, Dr. Lalpura said that the Uttar Pradesh government would take firm steps under its zero-tolerance policy against communal violence, ensuring accountability and preventing the recurrence of such incidents, while safeguarding peace, unity, and the rule of law.
