First ever Sufi Festival starts at Malerkotla ; MLA Jamil Ur Rehman inaugurated the four-day-long festival

As part of the efforts initiated by the Punjab government to revive the country’s rich heritage of Sufism, the “Sufi Festival” started today at the local government college. This four-day-long festival was inaugurated by Malerkotla MLA Jameel Ur Rehman.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Surinder Singh, Gurlovleen Singh Sidhu IAS Retd, SDM Ahmedgarh Harbans Singh, SDM Amargarh Surinder Kaur, Saqib Ali Raja Chairman District Planning Committee, Faryal ur Rehman and others.
Addressing the huge gathering on this occasion, MLA Jameel ur Rahman said that the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann is striving to make the state Rangla Punjab in the true sense. In this Rangla Punjab, where every color of traditional Punjab will be seen, Sufi singing, music, and art will also be revived and presented to the coming generations. He said that the district Malerkotla of Punjab has the privilege of hosting this festival, which is a matter of great pride for the residents of the district.
Jameel Ur Rahman said that on the last day of the festival on December 17, Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Anmol Gagan Mann will grace the function as the chief guest.
