First years get a warm welcome at Govt Bikram College’s freshers party

The 26th of November 2022 was planned as a memorable day in the life of every fresher of academic year 2022-23 of Govt Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala under the guidance of worthy college Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata. The fresher’s day ‘Aarambh’ was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college. The students were welcomed with great enthusiasm by the organizing class.

The event started by lighting the lamp as light not only dispels the darkness of night, it brings happiness in our lives. The purpose of fresher party was to make every new student feel connected as an integral part of Bikram family and be ready to take on the challenges of the year ahead. The party manifested youth and enthusiasm at its best. The excitement augmented to a joyful high as performances graced the stage. A guest appearance and performance of Punjabi Folk Songs was made by Satnam Singh Punjabi from Punjabi University, Patiala. His performance was spell bound and everyone joined him joyfully.

26th November is also marked as the Constitution Day. The NSS Volunteers Celebrated this day by participating in the online quiz on “India-The Mother of Democracy” through web portal: constitutionquiz.nic.in. The NSS Program Officer Prof. Ram Kumar read out the Preamble to the students present. An oath ceremony to abide by the constitution was also held.

First years get a warm welcome at Govt Bikram College’s freshers party. Fresher’s party is all about creating everlasting relationship with each other. About 450 students made this fresher’s party a great success. The program was organized by Prof. Ram Kumar and Dr. Apra. The new class students delivered a vote of thanks and presented a token of honor to the College Principal. Refreshment arrangements were made for all the students and the staff. The program was well organized and the event marked the presence of all members of the teaching, non-teaching and HEIS staff.
