Five persons killed, two children feared drowned as car falls in to Bhakra Canal

Five persons were killed and two children were feared drowned as Hyundai Creta car fell in to Bhakra canal near village Ahmadpur near Rupnagar on Monday morning.
According to information the accident took place around 10 am when a private bus hit a Hyundai Creta car no RJ23CD-3877 going from Anandpur Sahib side to Rupnagar side,from behind on the bridge near village Ahmadpur as a result of which car hit the railing of the bridge and fell in to Bhakra canal.
On getting the information Police along with divers reached the spot and the car with dead bodies of three men and two women were retrieved from the canal.
Two children,who were also travelling in the car,were also feared drowned. The victims reportedly belonged to Rajasthan.
The police have impounded the bus involved in the accident.A case has also been registered regarding the accident.
