Former Punjab minister gets show-cause notice for holding road show

Today, Nabha returning officer-cum- SDM Kanu Garg (IAS) has issued a show-cause notice to former Punjab cabinet minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, for holding a road show, despite election commission of India restrictions.
As per the notice, the returning officer has asked Dharamsot to file his reply within 24 hours. Further action in this case will be taken only after the department gets the reply from the candidate, said an officer attached with the returning officer.
Earlier, in the day, the former minister had held a procession while visiting a temple in the city to pay obeisance before filing his nomination papers. Candidate himself is said to have uploaded the video of road show on his social media account. In the video, the former minister was seen standing in an open jeep with hundreds of his supporters following him.
