Formulate policy for supporting SC students for their higher education-Dr Amar Singh

Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Fatehgarh Sahib constituency Dr Amar Singh held a meeting with Union Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot and raised issues concerning the scheduled castes and needy students studying in various schools and colleges of the state. He also raised the issue of formulating a policy for supporting the scheduled castes and needy students by providing scholarship and funds for their higher education.
After the meeting, Dr Amar Singh informed that due to change in some of the rules by the Union government, the students are facing problems regarding their fee, as due to the changes, the funds have been delayed and the educational institutions are demanding advance fee. He said that he requested the minister to formulate policy for supporting SC students for their higher education as the students that are completely dependent on union government scholarships for their education are forced to leave their studies.
Dr Amar Singh also requested the union minister to formulate a comprehensive policy related to providing scholarship and funds to scheduled castes and needy students for higher education, so that such students are able to complete their studies and become self dependent.
