Free Breast Cancer Screening Camp for Women organise at Rupnagar DAC

Bahadurjeet Singh/royalpatiala.in News/ Rupnagar, January 20,2026                Under a special initiative taken by Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia in collaboration with ACT Grants Organisation, the first of it’s kind free medical screening camp for women organised at the Aam Aadmi Clinic located in the District Administrative Complex. During the camp, breast cancer screening was conducted using an AI-based thermal device. Along with this, all tests including cervical and oral cancer screenings were conducted free of cost.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar  Varjeet Walia stated that this free medical screening camp was organised keeping in mind the health of women. The main objective of the camp was to ensure timely detection and treatment of serious diseases like cancer among women.

Deputy Commissioner informed that during this free medical screening, women above the age of 30 were screened using AI technology for breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral cancer, and other necessary medical tests, all at no cost. After examination by doctors and paramedical staff, guidance for further treatment was also provided wherever required.

He said that due to lack of awareness about cancer or financial constraints, many women are unable to get their health checked in time, which often leads to the disease becoming severe. Keeping this in view, the district administration has taken this initiative so that women can get their health checked without any financial burden.

Varjeet Walia emphasized that a healthy woman is the foundation of a healthy family and society. He appealed to all women of the district to take maximum benefit of these free camps organised by the Health Department and to safeguard their health.

He further stated that the district administration will continue to organise such free medical camps for women in the future as well.
