GDC Ganderbal hosts program on “Role of Regulatory Investment in Capital & Financial Market”

The departments of Commerce and Economics of Government Degree College Ganderbal (J&K) in collaboration with SEBI, organized an awareness session on “Role of Regulatory Investment in Capital & Financial Market” on Tuesday in the college conference hall.
The event aimed to enhance awareness about the regulatory framework governing capital and Investment markets and the critical role SEBI plays in investor protection and market transparency.
The seminar started with the welcome address by Dr. Sabina Ahad, head department of Economics of the college, who emphasized the importance of investors being well-informed about SEBI’s role in regulating financial markets and promoting fair practices. She underlined the need for increased financial literacy, especially among young investors.
The session was followed by the keynote address by the Principal of the college, Prof. Fouzia Fatima. In her insightful speech she highlighted the significance of investment in building financial security and economic independence. She also shared her own personal investment experiences, encouraging students to begin their investment journeys with caution and knowledge.
The main session commenced with resource person, Hakeem Bilal who provided an insight of the SEBI, regulatory bodies, the Capital and Investment market, its mechanism and its working. Dr. Suhaila Sikeen Khan, Head Department of Commerce summarized the session.
Afterward the floor was opened for questions and answers followed by the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Sheikh Parvaiz. This seminar was hosted by Gowhar, B.com 6th semester student. The programme report was prepared and compiled by Prof. Uqba Yousuf, Assistant Professor, Commerce.
