General Categories seeks meeting with cabinet sub-Committee. V K Gupta spokesperson of Federation said that the committee has already given a meeting to reserve category employees on December 19, 2022.

The Committee is examining the issue of implementation of 85th Constitutional amendment which has given time to reserved categories unions to hear their views, but  no such opportunity of hearing has been allowed to general categories  Unions/Federations by the committee till date.

It will not be in the interest of natural justice if opportunity is not granted a meeting to apprise the committee their view.

It is pertinent to mentioned here that the Notification of December 15, 2005 for implementation of 85th amendment has already been quashed by Punjab and Haryana High Court due to non-compliance of conditions imposed by Supreme Court of India in M. Nagraj and Jarnail Singh case This may be recalled that the conditions imposed by Supreme Court have still not been compiled by the Punjab Govt.
