General insurance company employees staged dharna; opposes repressive policies of GIPSA

To oppose the repressive policies of government and General Insurers Public Sector Association (GIPSA) management a half day dharna was conducted by the staff, employees of all cadres of general insurance companies, under the banner of Joint Forum of Trade Unions (JFTU) in General Insurance Companies at LDRO Ludhiana.
The employees protested against pilot basis implementation of organisational restructuring and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) by the management.
The spokesperson of the Joint Forum of Trade Unions (JFTU) in General Insurance Companies said “it is a matter of regret that public sector general insurance (PSGI) companies, viz; National Insurance Co. Ltd., New India Assurance Co. Ltd., Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd. and United India Insurance Co. Ltd., have taken unilateral and arbitrary decision of pilot basis implementation of organisational restructuring and KPI without considering the suggestions of the unions and also without adequate analysis and preparation and are trying to implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in haste although case is pending with chief labour commissioner (CLC).
A leader while addressing the staff, employees said “this dharna program proves that all cadre employees are united against the KPI, repressive policies of management and are opposing the wrongdoings of the management.”
