Ghanaur leads in first time voters who cast their votes in Patiala– District Electoral Officer

11,75,345 voters out of a total 17,34,245 electorate used their adult franchise in the Lok Sabha polls held on 19th May in the Patiala Constituency. This brings the voter turnout to 67.77 percent.

The District Electoral Officer informed in detail that out of the 11,75,345 voters who exercised their voting rights, 6,32,680 were male and 5,42,644 were female voters, and 898,574 voters used the voter ID cards while 2,76,771 voters identified themselves through other documents allowed by the Election Commission to be used in place of the Voter IDs.

The DEO apprised that 17,745 voters voted for the first time in these polls, 2267 Persons with Disabilities and 21 persons of the third gender were among those who cast their votes in the Patiala Lok Sabha Constituency.

Detailing the entire Lok Sabha Patiala Constituency, the DEO shared that out of the total 1,81,340 voters of Nabha – 109 constituency, 1,28,343 voters cast their votes which amounts to 70.77 percent turnout. He said that in Nabha – 69,489 male voters and 58,853 female voters ,  272 People with Disabilities and One person of the third gender used their right to vote. 1400 first time voters came out to vote in Nabha.

In the 110- Patiala Rural constituency, 1,31,445 voters out of a total 2,17,841 electorate exercised their voting rights. Out of these, 70,525 voters were men, 60,919 women, 1506 were first time voters, 188  were identified as People with Disabilities and One person belonged to the third gender which took the total voter turnout to 60.34 percent.

Regarding  110- Rajpura constituency, the District Electoral Officer informed that out of the total 1,73,947 voters the turnout was 69.20 percent which means that 1,20,369 people cast their votes. He said that  64,892 men, 55,473 women, 1578 first time voters, 310 PwDs and 4 persons of the third gender voted in Rajpura.

In Derabassi – 112 constituency, 1,78,526 people out of a total 2,58,622 electorate came out to cast their votes. Out of these 3119 were first time voters while 137 PwDs also cast their vote. This brings the total turnout of voters in Derabassi to 69.03 percent.

In 113 – Ghanaur constituency, out of the total 1,63,173 voters 70.33 percent people exercised their adult franchise i.e. 1,14,770 people voted in all. 63,034  men and 51,736 women voters cast their vote. 3128 were first time voters and 279 PwD voters came out to vote.

In the 114- Sanaur constituency, 1,47,624 people out of the total 2,15,131 electorate voted in the Lok Sabha Polls (68.62%). A total of 79,289 men and 68,332 women voters voted.In this constituency 1998 first time voters , 230 Persons with Disabilities and 3 persons of the third gender used their voting rights.

In the 115- Patiala constituency 98,448 voters out of the total 1,61,178 electorate voted which amounts to 61.09 percent voter turnout. Here, 60 People with Disabilities , 6 persons of the third gender and 1247 first time voters voted.

In 116- Samana constituency, 1,34,061 out of a total 1,87,658 voters used their voting rights which is 71.44 percent voter turn out. 71,487 men, 62,568 women, 2205 first time voters, 265 PwDs and 6 persons of the third gender voted.

The District Electoral Officer , Kumar Amit said that in the 117- Shutrana Constituency in Patiala-13, out of the total 1,75,355 electorate 69.44 percent came out to vote which means 1,21,759 people used their voting rights. Among these, 64,950 were men, 56,809 women, 526 PwDs and 1569 were first time voters.

He said that the counting of votes would take place on 23rd May. He extended his gratitude towards all the voters and candidates for a peaceful culmination of the voting process.
