GNDU Extends Last Date for Open and Distance Learning and Online Courses; last date announced

Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has extended the last date for admission to courses offered under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online mode until 15th November 2024 as per the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission- Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB) Notification.
Under the dynamic leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu Vice-Chancellor has established the Directorate of ODL & Online Studies with the necessary approvals from the UGC-DEB. Currently, the University has approximately 1400 learners enrolled in various Open and Distance Learning and Online programs, including both national and international students from countries such as Canada, UK, Australia, UAE and USA
These online programs have been specifically designed to benefit not only the Punjabi diaspora in regions like the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Africa and Europe but also anyone from India or across the globe seeking flexible higher education options.
The University offers 12 courses under ODLmode, which include BA, BBA, B. Lib, BCA, B.Com, MBA,MCA, MA(Punjabi), MA(English), M.Com, Diploma in Computer Application(DCA), Diploma in Communication Skills.
Additionally, GNDU offers 11 online courses, including BA,B.Com, BCA, MBA, MBA, MBA (FM), MBA (HRM),MBA(MM), MCA, MA (English), and MA (Punjabi)) All courses are duly approved by the University Grants Commission – Distance Education Bureau.
In line with recent policies from GNDU and UGC, candidates have now the opportunity to enroll in two academic programs simultaneously- —one in full-time physical mode and anotherin ODL or Online mode. This offers a valuable opportunity for regular students to pursue an additional degree in the same Academic Year.
Dr. Subheet Kumar Jain, Director of the ODL and Online course shared that the University has established a dedicated studio on campus to facilitate online teaching, video lecture recordings, and examinations in an AI proctored environment. The Guru Nanak Dev University also provides academic support to learners through its dedicated Learning Management System (LMS) – e-gndu, which includes Self Learning Materials(SLMs), eBooks, videos, quizzes and online platform for online discussion. Dr. Jain told that the last date for admission for ODL and Online Courses has been extended as per directions of UGC-DEB and the details has been uploaded on ODL (odl.gndu.ac.in/HomePage.aspx) & Online website (odl.gndu.ac.in/HomePage.aspx).
