A meeting of the Guru Nanak Dev University College Development Council under the chairmanship of Prof. (Dr.) Palwinder Singh, Dean, Academic Affairs was held in the Syndicate Room of the University. This meeting was focused to discuss the crucial matters concerning the development of affiliated colleges under the council’s purview.
The agenda for the meeting was presented by Dr. Saroj Arora, Dean, College Development Council, who skillfully navigated the deliberations towards addressing pivotal issues. The meeting covered a wide range of subjects, each with the aim of enhancing the educational landscape and promoting academic excellence.
The meeting deliberated upon the appointment of regular principals in all affiliated colleges to ensure effective administration and management, promotions of Teaching Staff under CAS with strict adherence to UGC Guidelines. All affiliated colleges were urged to undergo accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Colleges, who are not yet accredited and were strongly advised to initiate the accreditation process immediately and establish Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Placement Cell as it is very important to improve the quality of education and provide employment opportunities to the students.
It was further emphasized that it is mandatory for every college to create and maintain their own website to make information available regarding admission, examinations and academic activities. The meeting reiterated the significance of adhering to the norms and instructions issued by regulatory bodies such as UGC, NCTE, and BCI.
